We all have those days when we can’t focus on one thing for a long time, and get distracted by everything else around us. It’s so easy to just grab our phone or your laptop, or even make an excuse to stop focussing on our work. Following these five tips will hopefully help you out in some way, to find your focus, and get your work done!
1. Pick the right time
Finding the right time to do your work is very important, because everyone’s most productive hour is different. Some people can focus the best early in the morning right after they wake up. Others have more focus late in the evening. So experiment a bit, and find out what works best for you.
2. Try to avoid using your phone
It’s so easy to just grab your phone to check if you’ve received any messages, or to check your social media. But it disturbs your focus. So maybe it’s an idea to put your phone in a place where you can’t see it, so you’re less tempted to grab towards it.
3. Take breaks
You can’t just work for eight hours straight, so make sure you do take breaks. This is the time you can grab your phone and check anything you’d like to. Just make sure you set an amount of time for your break, and stick to it. After your break you will probably be able to focus better again.
4. Find the right environment
Again, this is different for everyone. Some people like to do their work in a really quiet space, like the library. Others feel more comfortable working from home, so find out what works best for you.
5. Clear your workplace, clear your mind
Try to keep your workplace as clean as possible, because working in a messy place can be very distracting. So keep your stuff clear and organized, this way your mind will be more clear and organized as well, and you will be able to focus better.
